a fabulous finale. MACsWOMEN hosted its 2012 Entrepreneurial Summit in Eastchester at a posh location. Experts including MELINDA EMERSON ‘The Small Biz Lady’; SHAWNA MARIE educator and Healer; RISA B. HOAG GMG Public Relations and many others … showered attendees with pearls of wisdom in an interactive ‘come-and-get-it’ forum. Although I did contribute as a last-minute panelist (thank you Michelle Christie!) it was a third-eye opening experience for me as well. Among my take aways… “blog.” What an epiphany. Sorry if I left the blog hanging, I was a litle ‘busy.’ But the expert The Small Biz Lady, MELINDA EMERSON, stunned me back to reality. Blogging is good. Hence, the prodigal daughter is back to share, and I am taking baby steps with this …
I was scratching my noggin’ trying to figure out blogging the last time around. But it doesn’t have to be so much work. Rather than reinvent the wheel again, I am looking to those that have been down that road… uh, actually they are the pioneers that created that road (in the world according to yours truly…) Among the blogger royalty, Darren Rose, Problogger has suggestions for every level from the novice to the pro – on what and how to blog. Apparently, blogging can be a way of documenting thoughtful living, as well as providing an income stream. All of which peak my interest!
Speaking of interest, financial blogs are a great place to learn to earn. These days less is more, but not when it comes to money! LearnVest is dedicated to all news financial and the daily newsletter, personal financial plans and partnerships Chase and other financial giants enriches the lives of its female audience. I like that blog alot – warmth and experience abound. I hope that some day my blog will be as rich.
The experienced “how to blog” bloggers all have the same word of advice for the novice. “Find your own voice” as the basis of the blog. Since this is going to be baby steps… Blog Milk offers a few words of encouragement for the newbie. What interests YOU? Write the way you speak.
Blog Milk has a nice, cheery approach to blogging, but the blogging pendulum can swing wildly to the other side… The Consumerist ‘Shoppers Bite Back’ is writing about a lot of crappy stuff that is going on… candidates and recipients for their Poo Award are out there for the world to see. If the bird of happiness just dropped a little of it on your windshield, a friendly visit to this blog, leaving a comment or two behind could relieve some frustration. You are not alone.
Who gives a blog? I do.
